Year 2 have been learning about suitable conditions for plant growth in science. Last week we planted radish seeds in a variety of conditions. We planted all seeds into soil so they had nutrients. Plant 1 had water, sunlight and was left in a suitable temperature. Plant 2 had no water, sunlight and was left in a suitable temperature. Plant 3 had water, no sunlight and was left in a suitable temperature. Plant 4 had water, sunlight and was left in the fridge (which is not a suitable temperature). Today we checked on our plants to see their growth. Plant 1 had grown into a healthy looking plant with green leaves. Plants 2 and 4 had not grown at all. Plant 2 had grown, but the leaves were yellow and it was a very tall, thin plant. We found out that plant 1 had grown the most successfully because it had all of the conditions a plant needs to grow. Planting was great fun. We hope our radishes will continue to grow and then we can eat them.
