Year 2 ended Autumn 1 with a visit to Hampton Court Palace. It was wonderful to see one of Henry VIII’s palaces, to experience the roaring fire in the kitchen and learn how they used a spit to cook meat in the Tudor Era. Sitting in The Great Hall was epic – it is such a huge place to have a banquet. We know that Henry used to enjoy hunting but we couldn’t believe how many deer antlers were on the walls! In the afternoon, we met Jeremy who shared some artefacts with us from the Tudor Era. It was interesting to see the different household objects used by the rich and poor families. To end our day, we learned a Tudor dance. We had such a great day!
