#ATW – Year 1 Celebrating Chinese New Year
This week in Year One we have been looking at the non-fiction text, ‘Chinese New Year: Festivals Around the World’.
We are looking to appoint newly qualified and experienced teachers across The Pegasus Academy Trust.

Our YR1 classes would like to say a HUGE Thank you to Mrs Jenkins, who embarked us yesterday on a journey back in time… The children were so excited to learn about the old toys and to explore how they worked.
At Ecclesbourne we would like to say a massive thank you to Lidl who have been helping us with our breakfast provision.
Yesterday our YR1 children were very excited to find out more about old toys.
This term in Year 1 we have been covering the thematic topic ‘Toys’.
This term we will be learning all about toys. We were very lucky and had a special visitor in school today showing us lots of old and new toys.

This half term our focus author is Mick Inkpen. He began his career as a graphic designer and worked on a cartoon strip for the Sunday Express newspaper.
We have had a very Christmassy, musical week at Beulah! Our choir has been very busy.
Last week, the children all took part in their amazing Christmas performances and concerts.
Parents and carers of our Year 1 and 2 classes were treated to some exceptional Christmas singing on Tuesday this week.
The cold snap brought the opportunity for the children at Ecclesbourne to get outside and play in the snow.
Children throughout EPS have put on excellent performances in their respective Christmas shows.
Our KS1 classes delivered two wonderful performances of the production ‘Lights, Camel, Action’ last week to very packed and appreciative audiences.
We were very excited to have one of our parents come into school to read a familiar story to our children in her home language.
