WHINF – Year 2 visit the Mosque
Year 2 were fortunate to visit Croydon Mosque and Islamic Centre to support their learning in RE about Islam.
We have some places remaining at our Nursery at Ecclesbourne Primary School in September. Full time and part time places are available. The last two weeks in nursery we have been continuing with our theme of traditional tales and have been reading the story ‘The Three Little Pigs.’
The Eco Schools team have had a busy week! On Monday, they took part in the RSPB Big School Bird watch event where they took to the school field to record the different species of birds they observed.
This week reception have been reading the story ‘Bog Baby’ by the author Jeanne Willis.
The snow is melting, flowers are blooming, and the days are getting warmer.
Before Christmas, we set the children a challenge to photograph themselves reading a wintery tale in their winter clothes.
For the past two weeks we have immersed ourselves in the story of ‘The Gruffalo’ by Julia Donaldson.
What a fun filled day reception had on Monday! We were fortunate enough to have a special visit from Professor Bubble Works who helped us make slime!
We have had a busy two weeks back at nursery. We have started our new topic for the term which is Traditional Tales.
To promote reading for pleasure, Whitehorse infant and junior schools have teamed up and created a ‘reading buddy’ session once a week.
The Eco Schools team has been out and about ensuring that we are taking every opportunity to look after our environment.
We have had a great run up to Christmas and have had lots of fun making decorations and biscuits to eat.
Father Sean gratefully received a £25 donation from the school this week.
Earlier on this term, one of our Eco Friends – Shay in Indigo Class, wrote a persuasive letter to Ms Hall asking for a battery recycling bin to be installed in school.
