Dear Pegasus Families,
It has been a very exciting Book Week across all of the Pegasus schools. It has been a wonderful opportunity to bring in real poets, authors and storytellers to ignite the children’s love for reading and writing. I want to extend a huge thank you to the members of staff who have worked so hard to organise such an amazing range of reading events in each school.
Research shows a positive link between reading frequency, enjoyment and educational attainment. Furthermore, reading for pleasure has positive emotional and social benefits, improves text comprehension and grammar skills and increases general knowledge. Building young readers who have both the skill and the will to read is a joint venture between school and home. If you or your child is ever stuck for what to read please take a look at our PAT Reading Spine. These are recommended reads for each year group developed by our very own staff. We are working hard to also get these books into our class book corners so that all children can have easy access to them. You can see the books here or click on the link below.
