Ecclesbourne at Chessington!

Last week, Year 6 at Ecclesbourne celebrated the end of SATs and a successful year with a trip to Chessington World of Adventures.
On Friday 8th July, Year 5 travelled to the Tower of London as part of their ‘Crime and Punishment’ topic.
Following a train to London Bridge station, Year 5 took a lovely walk along the Southbank and over Tower Bridge before entering the Tower.
This week we have been thinking about how to show understanding – being aware of other people’s feelings, being tolerant and forgiving.
This week Little Ecclesbourne children have enjoyed lots of learning and play in the sun.
Today was the day we’ve all been waiting for… CYPRESS LOWER SPORTS DAY!
Lovely to see Rachel Dixon, our Dance and Yoga specialist teacher, working with Year 5 on the field under the blazing sunshine today.
It was a pleasure accompanying Year 6 on the annual visit to Chessington World of Adventures on Wednesday 6th July.
A big Cypress well done to Evie, Maxwell, Sebastian, Raymond and Pablo for their efforts to support those affected by the conflict in Ukraine.
Children got the surprise of their lives when they got to meet Ava, a half girl half osprey, from a story they read in class before visiting the London Wetlands Centre.
Year 2 had a wonderful visit to Broadstairs beach this week.
Last week, Year 6 travelled to Chessington World of Adventures. We had a wonderful day swooping through the air like bats on the Vampire ride, spinning and twisting on the Cobra and being swung like pirates on the Blue Barnacle.
Well done to Yellow class who performed amazingly in their class assembly, sharing their learning about minibeasts.
We had such fun in the nursery last week, we were learning all about the environment.
EPS shone in last week’s prestigious Croydon Interschool Athletics Competition. Following a two year hiatus, the children could not wait to return to the summer showpiece and there were some fantastic results.
