EPS Celebrating 75 years of Windrush
This week at Ecclesbourne, we have been celebrating the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the Empire Windrush.
We are looking to appoint newly qualified and experienced teachers across The Pegasus Academy Trust.

This week at Ecclesbourne, we have been celebrating the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the Empire Windrush.
This half term our topic is ‘Beastly Beasts!’ The children have used information books to learn how to identify different types of minibeasts.
Year 3 have been studying Stonehenge and have recreated a sunset picture of it.
After a year of hard work and SATs preparation, the Year Six children were treated to a trip to Chessington World of Adventures as a reward.
On Friday, the Year 6s enjoyed an exhilarating trip to Chessington Theme Park and Zoo.
Pupils in Year 4 have completed their intensive, two week swimming course at Thornton Heath Leisure Centre.
Year 3 from EPS visited Thornton Heath library this week. Both Meteors and Asteroids classes were given a tour of the children’s library as well as a talk and story from one of the librarians.
In Reception we have been submerging ourselves in the natural world.
In Nursery we have been learning about space. We read the story Whatever Next!
We have a had a very sporty week at the Upper School this week as our annual sports days have been taking place.
Mr Veale’s welcome ‘It ain’t half hot, mum.’ With the mercury reaching around 26% consistently this week, with a very, very humid day on Monday, we have all enjoyed some warmer weather.
It has been a busy week at Cypress this week and the weather has been glorious At the Upper school, we have been thinking about the skill of collaboration and how this can help us achieve more in our learning.
Fun in the sun! Summer has certainly arrived here in South Norwood and we have been making the most of the sunshine, with plenty of outside play in our Little Cypress outdoor areas, the adventure playground, the forest area and the field.
Lots of children and families came together on this lovely sunny morning to share a hot breakfast at our picnic tables and discover their next great read.
This week we have been learning about The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
