BINF – What a Wonderful Week In Yellow Class!

In yellow class, it has been an exciting adventure this week with our learning as we used our writing, creativity, maths, and imagination skills in some delightful activities.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we transformed our classroom into a hub of creativity and kindness. We kicked things off with our special card-making session, where we combined paint and soap to conduct a bubble making experiment to create unique designs for our cards. Watching bubbles pop and splash became a delightful way to express our creativity! Once our card designs were ready, we wrote heartfelt love messages inside for our family members and friends, showing them just how much we care.

But the fun didn’t stop there! We delved into the world of science with our love potions, mixing various objects and ingredients to create magical concoctions. We also made Valentine’s Day gloop using cornflour, exploring the wonders of textures and materials, which provided a gooey, hands-on experience.

In maths, we focused on the concept of equality by crafting heart shapes—everyone used their knowledge to understand what “equal” meant, using hearts to make 2 equal amounts on either sides of the hearts symbolize friendship and love. This helped us grasp mathematical concepts in a creative, engaging way!

The highlight of our week was definitely the cupcake-making extravaganza! Everyone in yellow class excitedly baked delicious Valentine’s Day cupcakes from scratch. Mixing, pouring, and measuring ingredients allowed us to practice our maths skills in a practical context. Once the cupcakes were baked and cooled, we spent time decorating them with red icing, chocolate and sprinkles, letting our imaginations run wild.

As we wrap up this fun-filled week, we can’t wait to share and enjoy our yummy cupcakes made with love! Here in Yellow Class, we believe learning can be joyful and sweet, just like our cakes! Diana said “I love the gloop because it is so much fun!” and Jeremy said “I like doing the cupcake because I wanted to decorate it.”

Thank you for joining us on this adventure, and we look forward to more exciting projects together! Happy Valentine’s Day!
