This half term our focus author is Anthony Browne. Anthony has won many awards for his work and is a past Children’s Laureate. Anthony grew up in Yorkshire in a small village called Hipperholme. He loved art and spent hours drawing with his dad. Gorillas are in many of his books because he loves their strength and gentleness. Anthony hopes that his writing will encourage more children to discover and LOVE reading. Anthony Browne has an extra surprise for the children when they read his books because he has hidden disguised bananas for them to find!
Please try to visit Thornton Heath library with your child so that you can borrow Anthony Browne’s books to read at home. He has written or illustrated over fifty books including; Bear Hunt, Zoo, Gorilla, The Tunnel, My Mom, My Dad, Willy the Wimp and many more.
