This half term our focus author is Anthony Browne. He has won many awards for his work including the Kate Greenaway Medal (twice), the Kurt Maschler Award (three times) and in June 2009 Anthony was announced as the sixth Children’s Laureate. When talking about his writing, Anthony says, “I hope to encourage more children to discover and love reading.” His top selling books include Gorilla, The Tunnel, Voices in the Park, Zoo, Piggybook, Willy the Wimp and many, many more! Please look out for this author when you are choosing books to share with your children at home. When you read his books he has an extra surprise for the children to look for because he has hidden a disguised banana in each book for them to find!
