Last Monday and Tuesday, parents and carers with children in Year 1 and Reception were invited into school to watch how we teach their children phonics. The parents were very impressed with the teaching and learning during the ‘live’ sessions and felt that they were better informed as to how to support their children read at home. If you missed this opportunity and would like to observe a session, please talk to your child’s teacher. Mrs Montoya has also started to deliver ‘Bookstart’ sessions for nursery where parents and carers attend four weekly workshops to make resources for selected books which they take home to use when they read with their children at home.
