It was lovely to see so many parents and carers joining in with our Harvest Festival celebration assembly today. The children’s beautiful singing helped explain that Harvest Festival was originally a celebration of the food grown on the land. Harvest is a special autumnal event celebrated worldwide where thanks is given for the food that we enjoy. We thought about how we are lucky to enjoy food and shelter and thanked our families for helping to care for others in our community that are not so fortunate. Your kind donations will be collected by the charity ’Nightwatch’ and distributed to homeless and other vulnerable people in Croydon. I would like to thank all of our generous parents / carers that very kindly donated food and toiletries in these particularly difficult times.
