This week we have been celebrating all things book related for World Book Day! Mrs Schoeffer launched book week with a whole school assembly to tell the children all of the exciting activities they would be taking part in throughout the week. She kicked off the assembly with a character quiz, with children from her class that had dressed up. Beulah definitely know their books as they guessed all 8 characters correctly, including ‘The Tiger that came to Tea’, ‘The Highway Rat’ and ‘Elmer’.
The teachers have all been working hard to create amazing displays, tuff trays and book cover classroom doors. The children were so excited to see their classroom doors transformed into a book cover and these were showcased in the assembly.
The children were told they were meeting our ‘Author of the Half Term’, James Sellick on the Thursday and as they had been reading his books for two weeks, they were so excited to hear he would be visiting our school. To top it off, the day was made extra special as James’ visit fell on World Book Day too!
A huge shout out to James Sellick who made World Book Day very special for the children and we are still hearing amazing things about him from the children and the staff too!
Book week wouldn’t be book week without a dress-up day and on Friday the children will be able to come to school as their favourite book characters or comfy clothes. We can’t wait to see all the exciting costumes and clothes the children have been raving about all week!
We are ready for a fun week ahead!
