We started the week in KS1 learning more about Building Learning Powers, exploring how we can be resourceful learners.
Another week has whizzed by in Little Cypress! We have particularly enjoyed learning the story of Little Red Riding Hood and re-telling it, as well as acting it out with masks and puppets.
This week we have been thinking about thinking critically. We know that critical thinking requires you to use your ability to reason (one of our learning powers!).
We are so glad to be back at school after the Christmas holiday.
It has been so lovely seeing our youngest children come back to Rainbows and Nursery so confidently this week, after the Christmas break.
Merry Christmas from everyone at Cypress Lower School! It has felt even more festive this week with the snowfall and we’ve had great fun playing outside!
We were so excited to come to school on Monday! There was quite a thick blanket of snow on the ground – amazing fun to play in (a health and safety nightmare for Mr Stewart and Mr Cheyne!).
The parents and carers of the children in Little Cypress were out in force yesterday to come and watch Rainbows and Nursery perform their Christmas songs.
Recently, year 3 have been studying Aesop’s fables. We have discussed the features of a fables and what makes them different from fairy tales as well as learning about what a moral is and how the fables convey these morals.
Parents and carers of our Year 1 and 2 classes were treated to some exceptional Christmas singing on Tuesday this week.
At Cypress Primary School, our ‘Reading Tree’ rewards celebrate children who read regularly.
Dear Cypress community, What a busy term it has been! Congratulations and welcome to the new Members of the Academy Council, Stuart Reid (new appointed parent MAC), Fatma Guerry and Afjana Khatun (new staff MACs).
Wow! We woke up to a Winter Wonderland this morning after an evening and night of snowfall.
This week we have spent time thinking about how resourceful we are in the classroom.
