Summer Fair- brief update It was certainly a scorching hot day on Saturday for FOAP’s annual Summer Fair.

Sports Day ’23 What a superb Sports Day this year! The weather was fine and we had a really good crowd of parents and carers who not only saw their children competing in the carousel of sporting activities in the morning, but also had the chance to enjoy the fine weather for the picnic.
Croydon Athletics ’23 I had the pleasure in joining the girls at Croydon Arena on Wednesday to watch them compete in a range of track and field events.
This half term our topic is ‘Beastly Beasts!’ The children have used information books to learn how to identify different types of minibeasts.
In Nursery we have been learning about space. We read the story Whatever Next!
Mr Veale’s welcome ‘It ain’t half hot, mum.’ With the mercury reaching around 26% consistently this week, with a very, very humid day on Monday, we have all enjoyed some warmer weather.
Atwood continues to raise funds for diabetes research This weekend saw Atwood pupils past, present and future come together with their families in aid of JDRF.

On Monday five eggs arrived at Atwood’s Reception classes. The children were not told about what was in the egg, but after researching animals that do lay eggs, the children made their prediction of what they thought would hatch out.
This week in Reception our topic book has been ‘Journey’ by Aaron Becker.

Year 3 solve the riddle of the missing Mammoth! Our Year 3 children received a message last week to say that a mother mammoth had lost her baby and the children needed to find the clues to find it!
