All of the children had a very special visitor on Tuesday when the author Eva Wong Nava came to Beulah. Eva opened her visit with an assembly where she told the children about her author journey. She talked about her Malyan ancestors and her family life as a child. Eva told the children when she was little she always felt sad that she never saw herself or her culture and heritage represented in books, so she decided to write her own! Eva has a passion for seeing diversity and accurate representation reflected in children’s literature has written a range of books including, East Asian Folktales, Myths and Legends, Busy Little Fingers Art and Busy Little Fingers Music. Eva loved sharing her stories in every class and the children really enjoyed listening to them. Eva has already contacted the school to say how much she enjoyed visiting our children and said what a lovely school we have. A wonderful time was had by all and we hope to see Eva again in the future.
