Year 2 had a great time this week visiting London as part of their Thematic Topic. We went through security and into the lift up to floor 15 at The Garden at 120. The views were spectacular. It was a lovely, clear day and we could see as far as the Crystal Palace pylon. One pupil described the experience as ‘a beautiful view on a beautiful day’. We also had chance to visit St Dunstan’s in the East, a church which was damaged during The Great Fire of London and redesigned by Sir Christopher Wren. Another stop on our journey was Pudding Lane, the place where The Great Fire began. From here we could also see The Monument, which was built to remember The Great Fire. Whilst out, we conducted a transport survey as part of our Geography work. We couldn’t believe how many buses and bikes we saw! It was such a great day. Some children described it as ‘the best day ever’ whilst others said it was ‘the best day of my life’.
