On Monday, we introduced our Anti-Bulling / Friendship Week by wearing odd socks to school and sharing what it means to be a good friend in our whole school assembly. Throughout the week, each class has been discussing and recording their thoughts and suggestions about friendship. The children have also been working collectively and individually on fun activities around friendship so that they really understand what it means. We celebrated the close of friendship week by singing ‘All our Friends’ and sharing all of our fantastic work with the other classes and our families in a special showcase assembly.
In nursery, the children talked about sharing and kind words that we can use to talk to each other. They also learnt a song about friendship ‘The more we are together.’ Reception classes made friendships bracelets which they gave to their friends and Yellow class made a circle of friendship around the world. Year 1 classes wrote their ideas about how to be a good friend in a special key to friendship. Year 2 classes worked together to produce recipes for friendship.
