Year 6’s Visit to the British Museum – A Memorable Trip!

Last Friday, Year 6 had an exciting day at the British Museum, where they had the opportunity to explore a range of fascinating exhibits. A highlight of the trip was visiting the Ancient Egyptian room, where the children stood in awe before the iconic Rosetta Stone. As part of their English lessons, the children had written persuasive letters advocating for the return of the Rosetta Stone to Egypt, and they were thrilled to personally deliver these letters to the Museum!

In addition to the Rosetta Stone, the children were captivated by displays of shabtis and death masks. These intricate pieces will serve as inspiration for their own creations in the classroom. The visit was a fantastic way to wrap up their “Walk Like an Egyptian” topic, allowing them to connect their learning with real-life history.

A great time was had by all and the trip provided valuable insights and hands-on experiences that brought the Ancient Egyptian world to life!
