Year 6 enjoy the day at Chessington

It was a pleasure accompanying Year 6 on the annual visit to Chessington World of Adventures on Wednesday 6th July.  I’ve been to Chessington many, many times, but there are always opportunites for ‘firsts’ and this year it was the Zufari ride, which isn’t a ride at all.  It’s a mini safari and I nearly fell out of the super-sized jeep when I realised that the rhinos and giraffes were actually real! I may well have been more excited than the children at this discovery. My group (Clydesdale Class) managed to get on a number of rides, including the Vampire, Dragon’s fury and the Scorpion.  Unfortunately, there wasn’t room for me on the Crocodile Drop, so I just had to watch the children’s terror from below.  It’s lovely spending the last few weeks with our Year 6 pupils before we send them off to secondary school. It’s been a challenging few years and I’m proud of the resilient young people they have become.  Ms Achenbach.
