Excitement was in the air on Monday, as a sea of red, blue, green and yellow took to the school field. Children and staff were dressed in their house colours and sportwear ready to battle it out in an array of carousel activities. We had everything from obstacle races, football shoot out, high jump, cross bar challenge, tennis and basketball shoot out. Each activity was given 3 minutes of focused attention and perseverance in scoring as many points as possible for their house team. Mr Gadd was playing some motivational music hits to keep our energy levels up.
The rain made a short appearance but that didn’t put us off. We were ready to go again and couldn’t wait for part 2.
In the afternoon, parents were invited to come along and cheer on their child during the set races. The egg and spoon race never fails to put a smile on our faces!
The children were fantastic! Lots of cheering and teamwork was involved. It was a great atmosphere and an enjoyable day was had by all.
A huge congratulations to Sparta for their triumphant WIN! Well done. Olympia proudly received the ‘Sportsmanship’ trophy for working together as a team and cheering each member on during their race.
We look forward to another successful sports day for Year 3 and Year 4.
