I will be honest and say that the building of the Anglo Saxon houses in 4P was not popular with our cleaning staff (lots of mud and straw) but the learning when Mrs Pinkney set up a ‘river’ in one of the flower beds and asked pupils to set up their homestead was next level stuff. The concept of needing to be near the water (but not too near) and that ‘the last settlers were too isolated in the woods’ (well the bushes) was very well demonstated and will give the children valuable concepts to build on when they look at Viking invasion and settlement in Year 5 and the River Nile in Year 6. Good job!
