CYP UPPER: Y3 CHURCH VISIT

Last Friday, Connemara Class in Year 4 performed an assembly in celebration of the Harvest Festival.
The gardening club at WHJUN has been out in force this week, picking up litter, weeding and planting daffodil bulbs on the edge of the field for us all to enjoy in the Spring.
As part of our continued commitment to reading and phonics, we were delighted to take delivery this week of even more books to support the delivery of our Little Wandle Phonics programme.
The JTA’s (Junior Travel Ambassadors) are encouraging all staff, pupils and carers to dispense with their cars on Friday 29th September and explore other modes of transportation to and from school that day.

Year 3 Visit RHS Wisley As part of their learning all about plants, Year 3 visited RHS Wisley on Monday 17th July.
EPS’s athletes put in excellent performances at last week’s prestigious Croydon Interschool Athletics Competition.
Yesterday, Asteroids and Meteors classes from EPS visited the Buddhapadipa Temple in Wimbledon as part of their RE studies.
After weeks of training and practice, the WHJUN Athletics Team arrived at Croydon Sports Arena.
This week at Ecclesbourne, we have been celebrating the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the Empire Windrush.
Year 3 have been studying Stonehenge and have recreated a sunset picture of it.
Year 3 from EPS visited Thornton Heath library this week. Both Meteors and Asteroids classes were given a tour of the children’s library as well as a talk and story from one of the librarians.
As a result of our collaboration with the P.I.G. charity and their allotment project, some of our Year 6 pupils were lucky enough to go and visit Mrs Burney’s Bees in Frylands Wood this week.
