As part of our current thematic topic, ‘Invaders and Settlers’ we have been designing and building our own Anglo-Saxon houses. Before we started, we learned about wattle and daub, the traditional method of Anglo-Saxon construction. We then worked collaboratively in small groups and used a range of materials from cardboard to wooden lolly sticks to build our houses. We even made little vegetable patches! When they were all finished, we put all of our creations together to create a mini settlement. Doesn’t it look effective?!
