BINF – Exploring London

On Thursday we travelled by train to the London to explore the marvellous landmarks that make up our capital. Children in year 2 were able to identify some London landmarks they have been learning about including The Gherkin, St Paul’s Cathedral, The Shard and Tower Bridge. We walked to see The Monument, Pudding Lane and St Dunstan’s Church, following on from the children’s learning about the Great Fire of London in 1666. We then visited the amazing public roof garden at 120 Fenchurch Street to eat our lunch, enjoying panoramic views of London and spotting many more landmarks including the Crystal Palace transmitter masts. Click here to find out more about the FREE roof garden at 120 Fenchurch Street, which is definitely worth a family visit!

All of year 2 were impeccably well behaved and this visit most certainly won the award for ‘most steps walked on a school trip’! Many thanks to all of the staff who arranged this learning opportunity and to our fantastic parent helpers for volunteering their time.

We wrote recounts of our fabulous trip. Have a read.
