Atwood’s Year 2 Classes ‘travel’ to the Seaside
On Wednesday 19th April, the British seaside was brought to Atwood! Year 2 had their ‘seaside hook day’ to introduce their new PAT thematic topic ‘Oh I do like to be by the seaside’. The children spent the morning playing many beach games, this included hook a duck, volleyball, and giant jenga to name but a few. The children had lots of fun putting on their very own Punch and Judy show. The children also spent the morning playing in the sand, building sandcastles and experiencing what it’s like to paddle in the ‘sea’. We ended the day by discussing what we would like to learn about our new topic and thinking about what it was like at the seaside in the past. The children thoroughly enjoyed being at the ‘seaside’ and are looking forward to starting their new topic.
