At Ecclesbourne, we love reading and we thought what better way to celebrate the upcoming World Book Day than by running an exciting reading competition!
Over the next two school weeks, children from Year 1 to Year 6 are reading as much as they possibly can and competing to have the most entries in their reading diaries as a whole class. At the end of the challenge, there will be one winning class from Years 1 and 2, one winning class from Years 3 and 4 and one winning class from Years 5 and 6 – that is three classes in total who will win, so every class has a 1 in 4 chance.
What can your class win? – Each of the three winning classes will be taken on a visit by the adults at school to swap their World Book Day book token for a brand new, free book at Waterstones in Croydon!
When is the challenge happening? – The challenge is running from Monday 6th February until Friday 24th February, so that is this week, half term week plus the first week back after half term.
So, what are you waiting for? Let the reading begin!
