Ecclesbourne were delighted to host Sarah Jones, Labour MP for West Croydon and Minister of Industry. Ms Jones came on a joint visit with Magic Breakfast to see the breakfast provision available at Ecclesbourne which is currently provided by the charity Magic Breakfast.
As Minister for Industry, Sarah Jones MP’s responsibilities include sector growth and these responsibilities are closely linked to the childcare aspect of Magic Breakfast’s work, as breakfast provision serves as a free form of childcare which can support workforce participation and contribute to skills development and sector growth. Ms Jones was keen to understand the logistics of providing a universal breakfast offer and will use this knowledge to support the government’s commitment for free breakfast clubs in all primary schools. Ms Jones spent some time in each of the classrooms, speaking to the children about school life and discussing how the breakfast offer is set up at Ecclesbourne.
