Over the last two weeks in Gold class we have been reading the story ‘Owl Babies.’ The children have been learning all about families and have been drawing some lovely pictures of their own family. They are really familiar with the story now and can recall the names of the baby owls and the common phrase of Bill, which is “I want my mummy”. It has also helped them to understand that mummy always comes back, which has helped a lot during this transition period! We have also been learning about the numbers 1 and 2 during our maths sessions and in the provision. It has been really lovely to observe the children becoming comfortable in the setting and making lots of new friends.
