Peace in Gold Class!

Over the last 2 weeks in Gold class we have been reading the story ‘Peace at Last’ by Jill Murphy.  As the book is all about different sounds that keep Mr Bear awake, we have embraced the listening theme and have been exploring different sounds we can hear in the environment. We went on a walk around nursery with our big listening ears and heard all sorts of noises such as birds, helicopters and trucks driving past on the road! The children have also been working really hard making lots of new art work for our upcoming display board based on the book. Watch this space!! We have also been singing ‘I am the Music Man’ and have been learning the names of lots of new instruments and what they sound like.  In maths we have been learning all about the numbers 3 and 4. We have been practicing counting objects and actions, remembering when to stop on the given number. The children have enjoyed learning the jingles that go with the numbers and have been busy putting 3 candles on a cake and 4 sausages in a pan!
