ATW Nursery News – 3rd October
We have continued reading the book ‘Owl Babies’ in Nursery this week, this time with a focus on families.

We have continued reading the book ‘Owl Babies’ in Nursery this week, this time with a focus on families.
Another busy week at Atwood! In Nursery, the children have been thinking about families and the number 2.
In Reception this week, we have been reading ‘The Rainbow Fish’ by Marcus Pfister.
On Wednesday, the Year 6 children from Atwood took a trip to the Natural History Museum as part of their learning about evolution and inheritance.
Today at school, Yellow Class had a fantastic time learning all about the phoneme ‘k’ for kite.
Over the last 4 weeks, Year 2 – Orange class have engaged in Art Enrichment, learning about the Artist; Andy Goldsworthy.
This week Year 2 classes welcomed Nabhi from the London Institute of Vedic Education for a fun-packed assembly about Diwali, the Hindu festival of light.
It was lovely to see the children at our Brigstock Site Annex making front page news this week!

Year 2 had quite an incredible experience this morning. You could call it complete immersion into their new English book ‘The Bear and The Piano’.
Our Year 1 journey has started with a burst of imagination and creativity!
This week we have been focusing on caring for others at the Lower School.
This week in Nursery, we have been reading the story ‘Owl Babies’.
Today, we hosted a very successful Macmillan Coffee morning. We had lots of parents/carers come to join us for a hot drink and a nice slice of cake.
