Celebrating Red Nose Day for Comic Relief
We had a fun and exciting day today for Red Nose Day, raising money for Comic Relief. Click here to find out more about this charity. The theme for this year was ‘Celebration’ and it was joyous to see the huge array of outfits that were worn in Little Cypress today. We had princesses, superheroes, sparkly costumes, a Gruffalo, rainbow clothes and so much more, all celebrating the things we love! The children also helped to raise money for Comic Relief by buying and wearing red noses.
A Visit from a Police Officer
We were very lucky today because PC Nawol (Mrs Nawol’s son) came to visit us in Little Cypress. He was wearing his uniform and we asked him lots of questions! Bonnie asked him: “Do you arrest lots of baddies?” and Bella was worried that someone might steal her toys, but PC Nawol assured her that was unlikely! A few of the children were slightly concerned that he had come to arrest one of them, but I had already told PC Nawol what good children we have in Rainbows and Nursery!
In Other News….
In other news, we have been making some gorgeous surprises for our mummies for Mother’s Day (hint: they involve roses and portraits..) and making fabulous marble printing bunting as part of our Holi celebrations.
Bella became a big sister this week as her mummy had a baby girl! She is very excited about her little sister and said: “She is so cute and has curly hair like me but she’s much smaller!”
Our Rainbow Certificate recipients this week were Sebastian and Ruben E. Congratulations, boys!
Tiny Tadpoles
We have had some very exciting additions to Little Cypress – tadpoles! We learned about how they develop from frogspawn in to tadpoles, then froglets and finally in to frogs. We read the story: ‘The Teeny Tiny Tadpole’ and loved joining in the ‘boinging’! We also loved counting down from five when singing: ‘Five Little Speckled Frogs’ and showing the correct number of fingers.
Makaton Sign of the Week
What a useful sign we have learned this week: socks! Click here to see how to sign the word socks.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend and are enjoying the longer evenings.
