Marvellous Museum Day!
What an incredible display of talent we had on show today for our Museum Day! The Lower School hall was the venue to showcase our fabulous work. In the past few weeks, we have been working so hard on the theme of Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day. We painted wonderful animal names in Mandarin, made lucky red envelopes to celebrate the Year of the Snake 2025, painted beautiful Cherry Blossoms to represent the start of Spring and a new lunar year. We also made and tasted vegetable stir-fry and tried our best to eat it using chopsticks, with mixed success!
For Valentine’s Day, we have made gorgeous love heart necklaces out of clay and painted them so well. Rainbows made bigger clay hearts out of clay too! Nursery made incredible transient art Valentine’s Day cards out of loose parts. Their individual arrangements and patterns on the hearts looked so effective and they thought carefully about how to arrange the pieces for maximum aesthetic effect. We also thought about the people who we love and why we love them and wrote about this inside our cards.
Today, we loved showing our parents/carers and special people all our work. When Nova came back from showing her mummy her work she said: “Mummy said she was so proud of me!” Bella showed her Auntie Claire her work and she said she thought it was: “Absolutely beautiful!” Luca showed his mummy, daddy and baby brother Theo his work and his mummy said his Cherry Blossom tree was: “Soooooooooo good!”
Makaton Sign of the Week
As usual, we have learned a new Makaton sign. This week the word is pizza. Clcik here to see how to sign the word pizza.
Rainbow Certificates
A huge ‘well done’ to our Rainbow Certificate recipients this week. In Nursery, the recipients are Bonnie and Inaya and in Rainbows, Kiaan.
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
