We have had a week of celebrations in Little Cypress to mark the occasion of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. We have been learning all about the Queen and her family, palaces, pets and all things regal! We have been making crowns and bunting for our picnic on Friday, playing with small world castles and royal carriages as well as immersing ourselves in red, white and blue for the Union Jack. We have been role playing having afternoon tea with our silver teapots, jugs and sugar bowls, as well as tea cups and saucers. We have been listening to lots of stories about the Queen, both fictional and factual!
The children have been telling us all about the outfits they are going to wear for the Jubilee Picnic tomorrow and we can’t wait to be surrounded by royalty in the form of Kings, Queens, Princes and Princesses as well as some red, white and blue outfits and those that reflect different countries in the Commonwealth, over which the Queen is Head of State.
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and enjoy hearing all about our celebrations for this momentous national event.
