We would like to extend a huge welcome to our youngest children in both Rainbows and Nursery. These children are settling in so well to the new routines of Little Cypress and despite a few initial tears from some on separating from their parents at the door, they are all adapting brilliantly to their learning environments and getting to know the staff who work with them. In turn, the staff are learning all these new characters and their unique skills and personality traits. How lucky we all are in work in the Early Years, where so much of the magic happens!
Many of the children have mentioned Queen Elizabeth this week and we have been celebrating her long and dedicated reign in an age-appropriate and sensitive manner. The children have printed using different shapes in regal colours of red, white, blue, gold and purple. They have been enjoying role-playing Kings and Queens with crowns and thrones and building castles and palaces with the wooden blocks. We have read stories together as a class about the life of the Queen and loved using the small world figures to re-enact some happy events from the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in the summer.
We hope you all have a lovely long weekend and we will see you all back at school on Tuesday, 19th September.
