Rain, rain, go away!
We have had a fun-packed and rain-soaked week in Little Cypress! We have been splashing in muddy puddles, just like Peppa Pig, and have used up almost every item of spare clothing in the process! We have learned lots of songs about the rain including ‘Incy Wincy Spider’, ‘It’s Raining, it’s Pouring’, ‘Doctor Foster’ and ‘I hear Thunder’.
Marvellous Mathematicians
The children in Little Cypress have been really impressing us with their mathematical skills this week. They have been sorting out the maths equipment according to colour, size and type. Some of the children have been matching numbers of objects to numerals and re-counting to check for accuracy. Laolu particularly impressed us when we were reading one of our favourite stories: ‘I can only draw Worms’ We were counting all the worms up to 10 and one of the worms has a dreadful accident and gets cut in half and Laolu realised that actually there were then 11 worms, not 10! Great counting!
Makaton Sign of the Week
Each week we learn a new sign in Makaton. Today’s sign is ‘glasses’ or ‘spectacles’. Click here to see how to sign this word.
We hope you all have a wonderful and slightly drier weekend!
