Spring Festivals
We have been learning about different Spring Festivals and traditions this week, including the Hindu Festival of Holi, Ramadan and Eid for Muslims and Easter for Christians. The children have been incredible at remembering different aspects of these events and incorporating them in to their play. We have enjoyed exploring the Easter-themed tuff trays and we made some delicious Easter chocolate nest cakes on Wednesday!
On Thursday, we enjoyed a fun Easter Egg Hunt in the Adventure Playground. The Easter Bunny had been incredibly kind, hiding so many chocolate eggs and chocolate bunnies for us to find!
Exciting Visitors
This week we were lucky enough to have some exciting visitors. We had a visit from the London Fire Brigade with their fire engine. The firefighters showed us how powerfully the water could shoot from the hose and they even splashed us all with the water, which was very funny!
PC Nawol, Mrs Nawol’s son, who is a Police Officer in the MET, also dropped in for a visit. He wore his uniform and showed us his handcuffs, baton and radio, as well as talking to us about the things he does as a Police Officer.
Makaton Sign of the Week
As usual, we have learned a new Makaton sign this week. This week’s Sign of the Week is very appropriate for this time of year: rabbit! Click here to see how to sign the word rabbit.
Changing and Growing
What an amazing term we have had in Little Cypress. Each day, we marvel at how the children are developing new skills and independence and are maturing all the time. It seems impossible that we are now two thirds through the school year and that we only have one term left until Nursery are ready to move on to our Reception classes and Rainbows will move through to Nursery! Exciting times ahead.
We hope you all have a peaceful and relaxing Easter holiday and we look forward to seeing you back in Little Cypress on Monday, 15th April.
