What a busy, busy ‘b’ filled week we have had in Little Cypress! The week started with a flurry of snow and it has been very chilly ever since. Trying to match up hats, gloves and scarves with their owners has been a challenge but a great excuse to practise putting on and taking off our cold weather clothing, as well as trying to remember to put our coats on our pegs!
Builders
Part of our playground is being transformed in to decking and some steps are being built to reach the back door of the Community Room which is also used for our KS1 Breakfast and After School Care. The children in Rainbows and Nursery have loved watching the builders at work and went off and pretended to be builders themselves by using the construction resources to create their own masterpieces.
Buddies and besties
This week is Friendship Week across Cypress and we have been thinking, during Circle Time, about who our friends are and what being a friend means. Blake said: “Good friends play with each other!” and Arvind said: “Friends share toys!” On Friday, we wore odd socks to celebrate our differences.
Goodbyes
Arvind spent his last day in Cypress Nursery today. His friends all wrote in his goodbye card and did some amazing emergent writing with such heartfelt messages. He is moving to Australia and we were all interested to hear that kangaroos and koalas live there too! We hope Arvie enjoys the sunshine in his new home!
Buses
We have been singing lots of nursery rhymes and songs as usual and Rainbows made themselves in to a bendy bus with the chairs whilst singing: ‘The Wheels on the Bus’. with great gusto! It looked to me like a very jolly bus journey, with lots of happy smiles.
Makaton Sign of the Week
Our Makaton sign for this week fits in beautifully with our Friendship Week theme. The word is kind. Click here to see how to sign the word for kind.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend and keep warm!
