In Reception, the children have had so much fun, learning and sharing about themselves. Using the story ‘So Much’ by Trish Cooke, they have talked about their own families and learned while each person’s family might look different, they are all filled with so much love. The children made their family trees and drawings of who lives in their houses, leading to discussions about the people they love.
In mathematics, they have learned about the composition of the numbers 2, 3 and 4. They started the week by finding two all over their bodies with their two eyes, feet, hands, etc. They had lots of fun making three for the three bears as they had their picnic.
The children have been exploring the outdoor area and demonstrating their physical skills. The Daily Mile was introduced. The children loved the challenge of running around the field. The balance bikes, which were donated last year, have proven to be a firm favourite and the children have been zooming around the Reception playground. There have been lots of opportunities to show off and further develop their ball skills, with games of tennis and basketball proving popular.
