This week in Reception, all of the children turned into scientists! Professor Bubbleworks visited us and provided the children with the opportunity to create their own balls of slime! They explored the texture of their slime, making excellent observations about how the slime started as a liquid and then changed into a solid as they mixed it. It was fascinating to see the slime change shape and describe how it looked and felt. The children are very excited to take their slime home!
As part of our topic, ‘Watch out – there’s a monster about! the focus has been on the popular story ‘The Gruffalo’. The children have learned about the different properties of a story and identified the characters in this one. We talked about who our favourite character was and explained why we liked them. Everybody has been very creative, making lots of different representations of the characters. What a fun and busy week it has been!
