It has been a very exciting first two weeks of the Spring term in Gold class. We started our new theme of Traditional Tales with the story of ‘The Gingerbread Man’. The children have been doing a variety of activities to help them learn the story and we were very pleased to see them retelling the events in their play. The children particularly enjoyed baking their own gingerbread man biscuits, carefully observing how the ingredients changed when they were mixed to form a dough and then using the cutter to shape their biscuits ready for baking in the oven. It was lovely to see their proud faces when they finally held their own gingerbread man biscuit! During story time, we pretended to be the fox and we all ate the gingerbread man at the end of the story! Can you see our mouths opening up in the picture?
The children can borrow a copy of The Gingerbread Man from our Library which runs each Wednesday and Friday. Our next class story is ‘The Three Little Pigs.’
