Year 5 Viking Day!
Year 5 enjoyed taking part in a range of fun activities on Viking day.
We have some places remaining at our Nursery at Ecclesbourne Primary School in September. Full time and part time places are available. Last week was a very busy week for Year 1 as we visited the Science Museum on Thursday.
Last Tuesday, Year 1 had a fantastic time at All Saints Church learning about the Christmas story.
To start this week’s learning about the Nativity, the Reception children went on their first trip out and visited Sanderstead Methodist Church.
Christmas is really beginning to get a grip at Atwood and this week we finished the week with everyone in Christmas jumpers for their Christmas lunch.
It is starting to look a lot like Christmas in the Early Years, especially as a lot of the crafts made at Christmas Making day are hanging up in all of the classrooms.

On Wednesday, this week the children downed tools and stopped writing.
This week, the year 6 netball team played their first league matches of the season.
December is here, and Christmas Making Day is a fantastic way to kick off the festive month!
We capped off another busy week with a very well-attended dads’ breakfast and all the children dressed in mufti today.
What an amazing world we live in. The children in Early Years have been outside enjoying the changing weather, and appreciating the last bit of sun for the year.
Our Trust Staff Meeting at Cypress on Handwriting in the Early Years, for our Early Years and Year 1 practitioners, was a fantastic opportunity for the adults to have some fun, as well as learning some important pedagogy and practical ideas to teach this crucial life skill.
How odd! Today saw us celebrating our individuality by wearing odd socks and the children embraced this day in style.
What a busy couple of weeks it has been for the youngest members of the school since coming back after half term.
