Last week, the Reception team worked hard to bring the feeling of spring to our outdoor area.
Yesterday, children at Whitehorse Manor Infants celebrated World Book Day. It was great to see all the children dressed up in their favourite book characters.
Over the past two days, we welcomed parents and carers from our Year 2 and Reception classes to our Reading Café.
A few weeks ago, we set all children a photo challenge to read a book in most unusual or funny place they could think of.
This morning, we successfully held our first Reading Café workshop for our Year 1 parents and carers.
Over the past few weeks, we have been promoting our love for reading and the importance of reading for pleasure.
On Tuesday, we took part in Odd Socks day as part of our Friendship week celebrations.
Last week, we gathered together at assembly time to think about the importance of Remembrance Day.
This week Reception have been looking at a story called “Naughty Bus” by Jan and Jerry Oke.
In Reception, children have been reading the story ‘Supertato’ by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet and learning all about the caped potato superhero who is fighting to save the world from arch-villian – Evil Pea!
Ecclesbourne had an exciting visit from poet Kimba as part of our Book Week celebrations.
To help us celebrate World Book Day, a member of one of our families kindly donated copies of her fantastic book to our school this week.
There was a buzz of excitement around Ecclesbourne today as children excitedly prepared for our upcoming Museum day.
