That’s right, the Iron Man has come to Thornton Heath! Ted Hugh’s Iron Man was brought to life by the crafty teachers and pupils of Beulah. From the moment the children read those famous lines, they were all hooked.
Where did he come from? Nobody knows! How was he made? Nobody knows!
After being captivated by those powerful and memorable sentences, there was only one thing left to do – MAKE HIM!
The children had a fun afternoon designing, sticking, cutting and assembling their own ‘Iron Men’. Our Iron Men took a tour of the school before settling into our ‘Book Corners’ to become the focus of our writing. The children wrote wonderful stories of the Iron Man flying through the skies and rescuing people in their hour of need.
