Another week has flown by in Little Cypress and the children are gradually getting used to the daily routines and being part of a class. We have had a week of weather extremes, including some torrential rain and thunder! We loved standing on our covered patio and watching the rain pour down whilst singing rainy day songs such as: It’s Raining, It’s Pouring, Doctor Foster, I Hear Thunder and Incy Wincy Spider.
The children have been exploring the Little Cypress environment confidently, both inside and outside and have loved racing the bikes in the nursery playground, playing in the sand and water (and learning that we need to pull our sleeves up and put an apron on to avoid soaking jumper arms!), creating masterpieces with the playdough and plasticine and much, much more!
We are starting to learn Makaton signs each week. To learn more about what Makaton is, please see the following link: https://makaton.org/TMC/About_Makaton/What_is_Makaton.aspx
This week we are learning the sign for grandmother. Click the link to see how to sign it:https://makaton.org/TMC/News_Stories/SOTW/SOTW_Grandmother.aspx
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and that the sun might make an appearance!
