CYP LOWER – Little Cypress: The Sun has got his hat on!

Fun in the sun!

Summer has certainly arrived here in South Norwood and we have been making the most of the sunshine, with plenty of outside play in our Little Cypress outdoor areas, the adventure playground, the forest area and the field. How lucky we are to have such amazing outdoor spaces! We have been thinking about how to protect ourselves in the sun by wearing sunhats, drinking plenty of water and finding shade or coming inside when it gets too hot. We have enjoyed plenty of water play to cool ourselves down!

This week has been full of learning more about farms, making our Father’s Day ties and thinking about why we love our daddies, brothers, uncles and grandpas. In Nursery we practised our cutting skills by carefully cutting out the tie shapes from our tractor printing paintings. We have improved our fine motor skills so much over the course of the year!

Mrs Jerman has been tending to our wildflower meadow in the Nursery playground and it has grown so beautifully with a range of different flowers. All the children have been helping to water this area, especially as it has been so hot.

Butterfly Freedom

Nursery and Rainbows watch in awe as we released Rainbows’ butterflies, whom we have watched grow from tiny eggs to beautiful butterflies! Fly high, lovely butterflies!

Makaton Sign of the Week

It was Paula’s birthday this week and how lucky, because our sign of the week is ‘birthday’! Click here to see how to sign the word ‘birthday’.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and get to enjoy the lovely weather!
