Commemorating the Coronation
This week in Little Cypress has been awash with red, white and blue with lots of Coronation activities to commemorate the Coronation of King Charles III, which is happening tomorrow, Saturday 6th May, at Westminster Abbey. The children have been busy making crowns and decorating celebratory biscuits to mark this historic events. We have been reading books about the Coronation and learning about the ceremony itself and the special robes and Crown Jewels.
Ahead of tomorrow’s Coronation Day, the children came to school dressed in an amazing variety of royal regalia, as well as red, white and blue and outfits which reflect the cultural heritage of their family. They all looked incredible!
All the children in Rainbows and Nursery attended a special assembly this morning in the hall with the rest of the school. Seve thought he was a Shetland pony and pulled a special royal carriage in to assembly. We couldn’t believe our eyes when a very distinguished visitor came to Cypress to sit on a throne and answer questions: King Charles himself! He interrupted his busy schedule to visit us and we found that his favourite place to eat was none other than Burger King!
Makaton Sign of the Week
We continue to learn a new Makaton sign every week. This week we are learning the sign for green. Click here to see how to sign this word.
We hope that you all have a wonderful long weekend, whatever your plans are.
