Learning to listen and listening to learn
Another busy week has flown by in Little Cypress and the children in Rainbows and Nursery have been thinking carefully about using their listening and looking skills to become fantastic learners! At Cypress, we often say: “Good listeners are good learners!” and we have been working on listening well and trying not to be distracted; these life-long skills take time to master and we are doing brilliantly
We have been finishing off making our Eid cards, printing lovely patterns including the moon and the stars to celebrate this important Muslim festival. Alongside Eid, we have been continuing to listen to and remember parts of different versions of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’, including the repeated refrains. We have been developing our fine motor skills by carefully cutting around pictures from the story and making them in to puppets or collages.
Rainbows have been having lots of fun learning new action songs at carpet time and Nursery have been busy in the Forest and Adventure Playground.
Wild Garden News
We have been closely watching to see if our seeds are sprouting in our Wild Flower Garden in the Nursery playground. All the rain has meant that we now have lots of wonderful green shoots now! Watch this space for regular updates.
Tadpole Update!
Exciting news: some of our tadpoles have their legs now! We continue to watch them very closely for signs of growth and they seem to love living in Nursery as they are thriving! Thank you, Miss Prideaux at Upper, for providing us with this amazing experience each year!
Makaton Sign of the Week
Every week we are learning a new Makaton sign. This week it is the word bee. Click here to learn how to sign the word bee and ask your child to show you how, as well!
Next week will bring plenty of Coronation activities but meanwhile, please enjoy the long bank holiday weekend!.
