How incredible to think that we are now in the Summer Term! The year has whizzed past and we are amazed and delighted at the huge amounts of progress the children have made since starting in Rainbows and Nursery. We are hoping that this term brings some lovely weather, as well as some exciting events such as celebrating The Coronation of King Charles II, growing broad beans, sunflowers and creating a huge Cress Mountain!
Eid Mubarak!
This week has been jam-packed as usual! We have been learning about Eid al-Fitr and how people from the Muslim faith celebrate this important festival, marking the end of the period of fasting called Ramadan. We would like to extend our best wishes and ‘Eid Mubarak’ to all our Muslim families and hope that you all have a wonderful weekend celebrating with your families and friends.
Makaton Sign of the Week
We are continuing to learn a new Makaton sign every week and this week we have learned the sign for rabbit. Please click here to see how to sign rabbit.
Birthday Celebrations for Seve!
Seve has been feeling a little sorry for himself this week as he had a routine operation last Friday and has been wearing a surgical suit whilst he recovers. He perked up yesterday, however, in time to celebrate his 2nd birthday with the children in Little Cypress. He was less than impressed with wearing his birthday hat but loved the children singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to him and generally giving him lots of pats and fuss!
Jack and the Beanstalk
We have been listening to and joining in with different versions of ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ as part of our Growing theme this term. We have been refining our fine motor skills by cutting out pictures from the story. The adults were so impressed with how good the children are at using scissors!
We hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
