CYP LOWER – Christmas Fun in Ruby Class Assembly!

What a treat we had at Lower School today when Ruby Class performed their fun-filled assembly for their parents and carers and the rest of Year 2! The children got us fully in to the Christmas Spirit by donning their festive jumpers, sweatshirts, dresses and sparkly headbands to tell us all about the traditions and history of Advent. Find out more about Advent here. They sang a very moving version of ‘Away in a Manger’.

Later, we learned all about the annual Christmas Jumper Day that has been a feature of British life since 2012. This year Christmas Jumper Day is on Friday, 9th December and the children reminded us to bring a suggested donation of £2 to go towards Save the Children, an important charity devoted to supporting children in the UK and around the world in projects relating to education, food and medicine. Please learn more about the important work that Save the Children do by clicking here and don’t forget to wear your snazziest, jazziest, Christmassy jumper on Friday!

The assembly ended with the most energetic rendition of ‘I wish it could be Christmas every day’, complete with actions and dancing. It certainly got us all feeling festive! A big well done to Ruby Class and of course their dedicated staff for such a joyful performance. We look forward to plenty more Christmas activities for the rest of this week and next.
